Meet Dr.Bharat C. Patel
Founder and CEO of Nona Spine and Pain Institute
Dr. Bharat C. Patel, Founder and CEO of Nona Spine and Pain Institute, is a physician specializing in Interventional Pain Management (IPM) and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). He is a quintuple board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine, Interventional Pain Management, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine—a distinction achieved by fewer than one in 10,000 physicians in the United States. Dr. Patel is also a Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP) and Certified Physician Life Care Planner (CPLCP).
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College in India. He completed his surgery internship at Sound Shore Medical Center in New York, followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the NYU School of Medicine. He then pursued a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the Florida Spine Institute in Florida. Dr. Patel later served as a fellowship program director, training the next generation of interventional pain specialists.
Dr. Patel has been a practicing physician for over 25 years and has performed more than 50,000 fluoroscopic- and ultrasound-guided procedures. He is highly skilled in musculoskeletal ultrasound for both diagnostic evaluation and precision-guided injections, allowing for accurate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. Through his expertise, dedication, and leadership, Dr. Patel continues to advance the science and practice of Interventional Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation while improving his patients' quality of life.
Dr. Patel is actively involved in medical education and professional services. He serves as a volunteer faculty member at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine and the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine (OCOM). He acts as a preceptor for medical students from these institutions. He is also a volunteer examiner for the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Pain Medicine, and the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Dr. Patel holds a clear and active Florida medical license and is nationally recognized for his expertise. He has been named among The Best Pain Management Physicians in America and selected as one of the “12 Great Physicians in Florida” by Becker’s Review. He has also been appointed as an examiner for the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. He maintains an active membership in multiple professional medical societies.
